A WORD FROM CHRIS

Assassinista originated from a lot of different places. The title was originally from an entirely different short I attempted to make in 2007, which is also on Youtube. Jaci and Solitaire on the other hand, are two of my toughest females characters, that I created in my youth. Solitaire was originally created when I was in the 7th grade. She was always a mercenary/assassin. The only thing that has changed about her is her costume and of course, more depth given to her personality.

As for Jaci, I created her my senior year of high school. Jaci was always a Tomboy, bad ass. Basically a female version of John McClaine. When I began writing Assassinista, I knew I wanted to have these two character not only be best friends, but to have to square off. It’s very obvious the story was inspired by the Winter Soldier. That was a great Captain America story and I wanted to pay homage to that eternal struggle of having to fight your best friend.

Production on Assassinista began in January, but I had to shelve the project due to various scheduling problems not only with my cast, but with myself as well, and I wasn’t able to finish filming literally until seven months later.

But thankfully, the film is now complete. I hope to one day further expand upon this storyline and give it the true justice and scale it deserves.
